I’m back from Japan.
It was great.
The official deadline for submitting the book to the printer is “June.” June is now. Which means the book has to be done — the text, the illustrations, the page layouts, the footnotes, the everything — well, now.
Thankfully, June still lasts for a couple of weeks, so I’m confident I’ll make it, even though there’s still a lot of work to be done. Here’s a mockup of how I’m expanding on the visual style of the cover for my illustrations:
Launch party
There are more deadlines. I’ve had this overambitious idea of launching the book at Dutch Design Week ‘24, held somewhere at the end of October. This timeframe aligns perfectly with the release of the book.
However, the timeframe aligns poorly with June and the print deadline. I have to submit my application to DDW — a project proposal including mockups and a thorough description — next week. Right now, I have naught. Zero. Nada.
So, while finalizing the book, I’ll take a brief detour next week and knock out a fantastic application for Dutch Design Week.
Who knows.
I don’t.
Bye for now!
Succes ! Ik heb vertrouwen in jou. Liefs
